Susan Hovermale:
The primary goal of my photographic work is a personal pursuit of pleasure. It pleases me to discover images and to explore with my camera whatever attracts me.
I find a sense of peace, of serenity and order, in isolating a segment of a larger whole. Gratification also comes with discovering the patterns of line and design and, of course, capturing light as I sense abstraction defined by geometric shapes.
While there are certainly moments of frustration, I find the entire photographic process extremely stimulating, often satisfying. I appreciate the opportunity to share this process with others.
